Justin Eade is a screenwriter and film producer from New Zealand with 30 feature length film scripts to his name. In addition to writing feature screenplays he has also written, produced and directed many short films and stage plays.
He has had several of his feature film projects optioned and developed over the years. In 2011 he won the Kairos Prize screenplay competition in Hollywood, and that script ‘Blue Water Metal’, was optioned in the US in 2016, and is awaiting production funding.
In 2018 he won Best Film at the Top of the South Film Festival for a short film ‘Opal Valley’, and in 2019 won again for ‘Death Round Every Bend’. In 2021 he again won Best Film in the Top of the South Film Festival for ‘War Paint’, which has also won Best Film at Festivals around the world, including in Berlin and New York. More recent award-winning short films are ‘The British Broadcasting Corporal’, ‘Manager, Please!’, and ‘Gangster Nicknames’.
In 2026 he is releasing his first feature film ‘Northspur’, in the US, through selling rights to a major studio. This film has already released in many other territories around the world. Justin has ‘Red Zone Six’, ‘A Special Force’, ‘Moturoa Drift’, and ‘The Outer Marker’ in development for 2026/27, and a slate of 12 feature films in development for the future.
