Grant McKinnon 

Grant is a cinematographer in the New Zealand film industry. He has been making movies and television since 1992. His most recent movie release is Ka Whawhai Tonu, currently in cinemas. Recent Film projects include Bellbird and Mysterious Ways, adding to NZ’s rich and diverse catalogue of movies.

His early years in the film industry were spent in the lighting department. He worked on such films as Whale Rider, In My Father’s Den and The World’s Fastest Indian. 

He enjoys an active role in developing new crew and talent. He contributes to training and film education programs. He regularly participates in Short films and mentors new crew in numerous technical roles for professional development.

He loves telling New Zealand stories for New Zealand people and believes our film industry has an important role to play in our culture.
